It is an easy ravine, making it perfect for first-timers. It consists of a section of linked slopes and a stretch of channeled rappel. What makes it so attractive are the views of the surrounding landscape, including breath-taking views of the Guadalest reservoir and the Sierra Aitana. The Canal Ravine is one of the best ravines for initiation into canyoning in Alicante, it has very easy rappels and the last section is done walking along the dry river bed until the way out.
Also known as Les Mates Ravine,  its a dry riverbed ravine with torrential characteristics, carved from limestone, and the whole open trail is located within the hydrographic river basin of the Guadalest river which empties into the reservoir of Guadalest. It is approximately 400 meters long with a 200 meter sea level difference, with 16 rappels, the majority being small (4-6 meters) and the highest being about 15 meters.
